  • The Scavenger Hunt scheduled for June 4 had to be rescheduled due to rain; the new date will be July 30.
  • The annual Ice Cream Social is back!  It will be held in conjunction with the Community Band Concert at the Triangle Park on Tuesday June 21.  “Pie and ice cream” will be available at 6:00; the concert is at 7:00 pm.

Museum Coordinator Dixie Brown writes:  Highlights from the Museum:

  • The most exciting thing that happened this month was the delivery by the Public Works crew of four stone structures from the Hallelujah Campgrounds.  We plan to display them near the sidewalk area once we have a concrete surface prepared for them.
  • A nice update was made to our office area with the addition of new blinds for the windows.
  • We are working on updating some of our exhibits starting with our toy area.

Bob Block from the newly appointed Relocation Committee adds:

  • Our current museums’ exhibit and storage space is filling to capacity and the OAHS board has decide to address this issue with the appointment of a Relocation Committee. The Relocation Committee consist of two board members (Robert Block and Luke Heiar) and three Society members (Heather Young, Ann Benedict, and Phil Maier). The Relocation Committee is currently assessing buildings, vacant lands, and new construction for possible future museum locations.
