Would you like to help with the very special OAHS “Loaning Closet?” We have been providing costumes to 4th graders in the Oregon Schools for almost 20 years. We need this very successful program to continue, but we are in dire need of volunteers to help.
Pioneer Days take place in the spring of each year. Each school requires about 10 hours of fitting costumes. The teachers make the appointments.
Brooklyn 4th graders – March
Netherwood Knoll – April
Prairie View – May
Wax Museum – RCI 5th graders do a “wax museum” project, portraying historic characters. The OAHS helps students with costumes (2 or 3 times per school year).
Following each event, the teachers return the clothing to the OAHS. We check them in, sort for laundry. Items need to be washed, ironed and put back in the “closet.”
Serve as Coordinator for the Loaning Closet.
PIONEER DAYS: Be the contact person for the school, establish dates for fittings, contact and schedule volunteers for fittings, for laundry and ironing.
WAX MUSEUM: Be the contact person with 5th grade teachers, coordinate times to help with historic costumes for their “wax museum.”
