August

  • The death of Jerry Neath, long-time volunteer and charter member of the Historical
    Association, was announced.
  • The Civil War Military Signage, identifying soldiers from Oregon and neighboring townships, was demonstrated.
  • Kermit Traska agreed to spearhead the replacement of the aging flower bed on the
    Lincoln Street entrance to the building.

September

  • The Oregon Library has requested the Museum to present a program at the Senior Center. This has been an annual event the last few years. Four presentations will be made: Miss Oregon, History of the Library, Understanding Artifacts, a Tribute to Jerry Neath.
  • The Annual Christmas at the Museum was announced, for Saturday, December 9
    from 10a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Replacement signs for two rural schools and a new sign for the horse in the Museum yard have been received and will be installed soon.

October

  • The Relocation Committee circulated a Questionnaire to Board Members and Tuesday volunteers regarding their vision and hope for a new Museum.
  • There was discussion and general agreement to host an Open House for the Village administrators and department heads, with a “wine and cheese” hospitality, to give exposure of the Museum to a number of folks who probably haven’t been in the
    building for a long time.
  • The Museum will be open regular hours on Halloween [Tuesday, October 31] for young children and parents to visit and receive a treat.
