OAHS Board Highlights ~November 2022
Joel Olsen, president

  • Treasurer Luke Heiar continues to refine the budget creation process so that we can have a clearer idea at the Annual Meeting of our operational expenses.

  • Museum Coordinator Dixie Brown is working with JoAnn Swenson to update the Rural School signs; the project was completed several years ago, and now some signs are either missing or showing their age.

  • The Area Business Exhibit is in process of being updated, as is the Horse exhibit.

  • The Tuesday staff – Heather Young and Dixie Brown – are working with a team of students from MATC who are updating our website.  This school project is being done at no cost to OAHS; they will train Heather to maintain the site.

  • Three of our Tuesday volunteers recently attended a training event at the Mount Horeb Historical Society regarding digitizing our collection.  We have purchased a new scanner what will enable us to scan many of our paper documents for better preservation.

  • Our volunteers have logged over 350 volunteer hours in the month of October!

  • The Annual Meeting will be on March 19, 2023; we are working to select the location and arrange for a program.

  • The OAHS will participate in Tuesday Sharing Day, to be arranged by Heather.

  • Christmas at the Museum will be held on Saturday, December 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  A Victorian Christmas will be the theme.

  • The Board accepted the resignation of board member Dawn Grinnell.

  • The Board will not meet in December, resuming on January 11, 2023.
