OAHS Board Highlights

November 2023

Joel Olsen, president

  • Board member Kermit Traska reported on the re-build of the flower bed by the Lincoln Street entrance. He designed a new structure using railroad ties. Project was completed for about $300 with labor volunteered by Society members Dan and Jim Griffin, and Tom Fisher; neighbor Robert Klein, and Board members Kermit, Luke Heiar and Bob Block. Beth Traska planted spring bulbs and restored the perennial. Great work, and thanks to all!

  • The Board hosted an Open House for Village leadership on November 15; turnout was disappointing, but improved plans are underway for other village groups [business leaders, safety personnel, educators, etc.] to be invited. The purpose of these events is to have a more relaxed time to showcase the Museum to many folks who haven’t been inside our facility.
