Age 16, single, blue eyes, light hair, fair complexion, 5′ 6″, a farmer.Enlisted March 26th 1864 in Madison, Wisconsin by Lt. J.H. Baker for three years, muster in April 8th 1864 Madison, Wisconsin.

Wounded in action Nashville, Tennessee, December 15 or 16th 1864, sent to Nashville hospital, mustered out June 9th 1865 Louisville, Kentucky.

In battles of Ft. De Russy, Henderson’s Hill, Cane River, Pleasant Hill, forty days of skirmishing near Alexandria, Louisiana, Cloutierville, Louisiana, Mansura Bayou, Declaize Lake, Lake Chicot, Arkansas, Hurricane Creek, Abbeville and the pursuit of Sterling Price through Missouri and Arkansas.
