ALFRED R. NIELSEN was the first “kasserer” or Treasurer for the congregation. He was born July 4, 1861 in Skovbolle, Kovelov, Lolland, Denmark. He was baptized the same year in Kobelov Church.He came to America at age 5 with his parents and settled in Stoughton and was confirmed there the first Sunday after Easter, 1877, by Pastor Hvessedahl.
