The Netherwood Building at 104 Janesville Street was built by Charles W. Netherwood in 1898 and served as a hall. The first building burned in 1873 and was rebuilt–only to burn again in 1898.

Netherwood Hall was located on the corner of Main and Jefferson Streets. This later was the location of a bank, and is now green space.

J.H. SHOLTS, of Oregon, was born at Sun Prairie, September 15, 1873, of German parentage, Jacob and Christine (Stine) Sholts. They came to the United States in 1859 and settled in Sun Prairie, Dane county, where their children, except the oldest, (Mrs. Custer, of Dunn township) were born and reared and where they remained until their death.
