The local newspaper, The Oregon Observer, has been published weekly since 1880. The Historical society has copies of almost every issue.
Historical Society volunteers read every issue of the Observer and clip important articles and obituaries to keep in our files which have been digitized and indexed for easy access. Check out our archive of local history during Museum open hours.

The Oregon Public Library also owns the microfilm for the Oregon Observer from 1881 to 2016 and maintains a Obituary Index.
