In the 1890’s until after World War I, the Womens Relief Corps (WRC) was very active in Oregon.  They cared for the graves of our Civil War veterans and our one Revolutionary war veteran.

Civil War Soldier from Rutland Wisconsin. Abner Gunsolus son of John Lewis Gunsolus and Evaline Hart Gunsolus. My great great uncle Abner Gunsolus 1839 to 1862 from Rutland, Dane county, Wisconsin died in the Civil War.

Age 34, married, blues eyes, brown hair, light complexion, 6’0″, a carpenter. Enlisted January 4th 1864 at Oregon, Wisconsin by Sgt. Ellsworth for 3 years, mustered in March 18th 1864, Madison, Wisconsin. Detached service with division Pioneer Corps since June 1864, mustered out with company September 5th 1865 at Demopolis, Alabama.
