Charles Anthony was born in Rutland, Wisconsin on April 18, 1857. He married Miss Philena Chidester in December, 1885. For their honeymoon, Chalres and Philena took the noon train to, then went on to Nebraska to spend a few weeks with relatives.
In 1888, the spring live Charles lived near became known as Anthony Creek and Anthony Springs. At one time there was a village of 100 wigwams near there. Charles lived in Rutland until 1915 and then moved to Madison where he held a position at the bureau of plant industry at the Forest Products Laboratory.
Philena and Charles had 2 sons, David and Herman. Charles died on February 26, 1927.
