The first town hall was the center section of a two-story school building that was built in 1867-68. In 1895 an amazing development took place. The center section of the first town hall was carefully detached from the single story wings on either side and painstaking relocated to South Main Street behind the Netherwood Block Building in 1895. The Historical Society owns photos of the building in different states of moving to it’s new home.

A few decades later, the village needed a larger building for its village hall. Constructed under the Works Progress Administration (WPA), the new Village Hall was dedicated on July 5, 1941.
The main entrance was on the south side of the building facing Waterman Park. Village administration offices and the public library were on the upper floor. The police department and a small jail occupied the rear of the building. A large meeting room with a kitchen was located on the lower level.

Over the years, the Village Hall has served as the site for many community services.
- From 1941 until 1980, Village Hall was the site of the Public Library.
- In 1946, the two first grade classrooms were taught by Mrs. Mary Smith and Mrs. Mabel Olson.
In May 2023, Village Hall moved again. This time, about a mile west to 101 Alpine Parkway. The new facility was previously held a branch of One Community Bank. Old Village hall needed extensive repairs and staff desperately needed more space to work. The old site did not have any space to grow and repairs would be more costly than renovating a new building. Old Village Hall is still standing, but currently empty.
