Thomas Zook

The Thomas Zook family settled in Oregon in 1849 and became involved with the Methodist Church. Mr. Zook was musical and frequently asked to start the hymns, as in the early days there were no musical instruments used in the church service.

The only horse team and carriage in the community was owned by Mr. Zook. It was often in use for funerals and weddings. Both Mr. and Mrs. Zook were active in the work of the Church. Mrs. Zook died in 1891, and Mr. Zook in 1896.
