Charles W. Netherwood
CHARLES W. NETHERWOOD, Postmaster of Oregon; born in the town of Watervliet, Albany Co., N.Y., Jan. 14, 1843; three years of his early life were spent in a woolen factory; he came to Wisconsin in 1856, with his parents, Joseph and Emma Netherwood, who settled on a farm in the south part of the town of Oregon, where he took his early lessons in Western life at driving cattle.
John McDermott
JOHN McDERMOTT, deceased, was one of the most promising young farmers of the town of Fitchburg, where he had lived from early childhood, and by industry, integrity and neighborly kindliness had won the high regard of a large circle of acquaintances who sincerely mourned his untimely taking off.
Robert P. Main
Robert Palmer Main, born in Stonington, Conn., and Cordelia Dakin Main, born in Clinton County, Ohio, came to Wisconsin in 1845 in a covered wagon, settling on a farm three miles south of Oregon.
Henry H. Marvin
HENRY H. MARVIN, dealer in hardware, Oregon; born June 11, 1850, in Warren, Trumbull Co., Ohio (see sketch of A. B. Marvin); H.H. Marvin received his schooling in Oregon; learned his trade of a tinner in Beloit, Wis., at 18, left Beloit at 21, and opened a stock of hardware in the old building of C.W. Netherwood; fortunately, removed six weeks before it was burned. During the past six years, he has done business in the old building built by W.S. Bedford, as a residence, having thoroughly remodeled it;
Bernard McDermott
B. McDERMOTT SONS is the name of the leading mercantile establishment in the village of Oregon, and it is now being successfully managed and kept up to the high standard attained, by George and William McDermott, sons of Bernard McDermott, who was the founder of the establishment. Bernard McDermott was a native of Vermont, and lived in the Green Mountain state until his removal to Wisconsin in 1881.

Robert Keenan
ROBERT KEENAN, (Grandfather) of Oregon, was born in Fitchburg, September 16, 1854. He is the second son of John and Flora (McKee) Keenan, natives of Ireland. The father came from the old country and the mother from New York City to Lima, Ind.; they came from Indiana to Wisconsin by team, by way of Chicago and were married in the town of Dunn, Dane county. They were among the earliest settlers, coming with the Foxes in 1843.
